Telford Town Football Club are delighted to confirm the appointment of former Sheffield Wednesday, Stockport County, Bristol Rovers and Walsall defender Aaron Lescott as the club’s new assistant manager ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Aaron joins the football club with a wealth of experience from both the professional and non-league game, having represented several established clubs throughout his playing career. Widely respected for his leadership qualities, professionalism and understanding of the game, the club believe his addition will be a major asset both on and off the pitch moving forward.

The appointment follows the decision of Graham Jones to step back from his role as joint manager due to increasing work commitments.

Everyone at Telford Town would like to place on record their sincere thanks to Graham for the contribution he has made during his time in interim and joint charge alongside Shaun Ralph. Graham remains a valued part of the football club and will continue to be involved around the club whenever possible moving forward.

With preparations for the 2026/27 season now well underway, the club are delighted to welcome Aaron into the management team as they continue building for the future.

“We would firstly like to thank Gra for everything he has done for Telford Town Football Club throughout his time in the role.

While Graham has stepped back from the role due to work commitments, he remains a valued part of the football club and we know he will continue to support us moving forward.

At the same time, we are absolutely delighted to welcome Aaron Lescott to Telford Town.

Aaron brings fantastic experience from the professional game, strong leadership qualities and a real understanding of what it takes to build standards and successful environments.

After speaking with him, it was clear he shares the ambition, mentality and direction we want this football club to continue moving towards, and we believe he will be an outstanding addition to the management team.”

Shaun Ralph said:

“Aaron is someone I’ve known for a long time and somebody I have a huge amount of respect for.

He understands standards, professionalism and what it takes to be successful both on and off the pitch. His experience speaks for itself and I know the players will benefit enormously from working with him.

As a management team, we want to keep improving in every area and bringing Aaron into the club is a significant addition for us. I’m looking forward to working alongside him.”

Aaron Lescott said:

“I’m delighted to be joining Telford Town. After speaking with Hayden, Jonathan and Ralphy, it was clear there is real ambition at the football club and a genuine desire to keep moving forward.

There’s already a strong foundation in place, good people around the club and a fanbase that really gets behind the team.

I’m looking forward to getting started, working with the players and helping the club continue progressing heading into the new season.”
