Over the past 24 hours I’ve been made aware of a number of rumours circulating regarding Telford Town Football Club. Whilst putting statements out regarding rumours and speculation aren’t something we plan to do, as before, I want to address them directly and bring clarity for those at Telford Town.
Let me be absolutely clear:
I have not resigned. I proudly remain the owner and chairman of Telford Town Football Club.
The club continues to operate responsibly and sustainably, with clear planning in place for now and the future nothing has changed in that respect.
There is an agreed budget that has not changed since the beginning of the season and the club is moving forward in a controlled and structured manner.
Earlier this season we experienced similarly ludicrous rumours suggesting I was about to take over another football club — a club I had never even met with or spoken to. Those claims were completely false and were shown to be false, and the current speculation is no different.
As with any football club periods of transition happen and we are in one of those right now with the recent management departure of course but as always transition provides exciting opportunities for the club and its future.
Non-league football will always attract speculation, especially when a club is progressing and evolving. I won’t be distracted by it, and nor will or should anyone else connected with the club.
Our focus remains on the football, the pathway we’ve built across all sections of the club, and continuing to push forward together.
Telford Town is the club I love, as a family the club is a huge part of our lives, I am fully committed to it, and our journey is far from finished.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support the club positively.
