Telford Town Football Club is delighted to confirm the appointment of Steve Hinks as First Team Manager, as the club enters an important new chapter both on and off the pitch.
Steve arrives with an extensive and highly respected background in non-league football, having worked across multiple levels of the National League System and choosing to take on the challenge at Telford Town as part of a long-term football project.
Most recently, Steve has been part of the management team at Coleshill Town, having left Rushall Olympic last season where he gained valuable experience operating at Step 2 in the National League North. Prior to that, Steve worked closely with Club Chairman Hayden Dando during a spell at Hednesford Town, before earlier roles that included a significant period at Walsall Wood, where he was part of a league-winning management team at Step 5 and remained with the club following promotion to Step 4.
Steve’s career also includes spells with Tamworth, Nuneaton Borough, Atherstone Town, Stafford Rangers, Sutton Coldfield Town, Gresley Rovers and Coalville Town, giving him a deep understanding of both promotion challenges and the demands of competing successfully at higher levels.
That experience closely mirrors the pathway Telford Town are building, with the club currently competing at the top end of Step 6 and focused on our long term plan of progression.
On his appointment, Steve Hinks said:
“I’m really excited to be joining Telford Town at this stage of its journey. This is a club with real momentum, strong foundations and a clear vision for where it wants to go. I’ve worked at a number of levels in the game and what stood out to me here is the ambition matched with a genuine plan. I’ve worked with Ade before and know him well whilst the management team around me is one that I am excited to work with above all I’m looking forward to getting started, working with the players and helping drive the club forward.”
Joining Steve as Assistant Manager is Shaun Ralph, a well-known figure in Midlands football. Shaun enjoyed a long playing career with Smethwick, Shifnal, Shawbury and Ludlow before moving into management and coaching. He previously managed Penncroft FC in the West Midlands Division One and has spent the last four seasons managing Hednesford Town Over 35s, now known as Wolves Sporting Vets, achieving sustained success in the Central Warwickshire Over 35 League.
Also appointed as Assistant Manager is Graham Jones, who brings significant leadership and football operations experience into the first-team setup. Graham previously served as Chairman of Hednesford Town and more recently as Sporting Director at Rushall Olympic, operating at Step 2 level. His role will focus on recruitment, squad development and first-team decision-making alongside Steve Hinks.
Completing the management team is Paul Davis, who joins as First Team Coach following spells with Wednesfield, Great Wyrley FC and Cradley Town.
On the appointment, Club Chairman Hayden Dando said:
“Steve is someone I know well and trust, and his experience across the non-league pyramid speaks for itself. This is a strong appointment that brings leadership, football knowledge and ambition into the club. Just as importantly, Steve understands what we are building here and has chosen to be part of that journey. With the management team now in place, we are fully focused on pushing the club forward.”
The club believes this experienced and well-balanced management group provides the right structure to continue driving standards, performance and long-term progress at Telford Town Football Club.
Steve and his management team will take over after Wednesday home game with Ashville.
