Telford Town FC are proud to announce that the club has officially achieved FA 3-Star Accredited Club status — a major milestone recognising the incredible progress made across the football club in a remarkably short period of time.
In May 2024, the club consisted of just two senior men’s teams competing at Step 7 level.
Just two years later, Telford Town FC has grown into a complete football pathway providing opportunities across boys, girls, men’s, women’s and disability football within the local community.
The club now operates a full boys pathway from Under 7s through to senior football, alongside a rapidly growing girls and women’s section, a thriving post-16 and development structure, and dedicated youth and adult disability teams whilst operating a full time football and education academy for 16-19 year olds.
FA 3-Star Accreditation is awarded to clubs demonstrating high standards in areas including coaching, safeguarding, player development, inclusion and long-term sustainability within grassroots football.
The achievement reflects the hard work and dedication of everybody connected to Telford Town FC — including players, coaches, volunteers, parents, supporters and sponsors — who have all played a part in the club’s rapid growth both on and off the pitch.
Joint Chairman Hayden Dando said:
“To achieve FA 3-Star Accreditation in such a short space of time is something everybody connected to the football club should be incredibly proud of.
Over the last two years, there has been a huge amount of hard work put into building not just teams, but a genuine football pathway and community club that provides opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds.
From grassroots junior football through to senior football, women’s football and disability football, the growth of the club has been incredible to witness.
This recognition reflects the commitment of so many people behind the scenes, special thanks must go to every player, coach and volunteer who gives their time and are the reason we have any of the pathways we do as well as to our head of football - Ray Lindsay (Youth), Elys Brooks-Davies (ladies) and Chris Lowe (Disability and inclusive football) as without the tireless work from them again teams couldn’t be out playing football.
I will say we firmly believe this is only the beginning of what Telford Town FC can become.”
Joint Chairman Jonathan Stone added:
“What has been achieved across the football club in a relatively short period of time has been outstanding.
The club has grown into a real community football environment with opportunities available across multiple areas of the game, and achieving 3-Star status is a fantastic milestone for everybody involved. One of the main attractions to me getting involved here was the potential this club has and that is demonstrated by the sheer volume of football being delivered.
I would like to thank all of our players, coaches, volunteers, parents, supporters and sponsors for their hard work and commitment so far throughout their journey.”
The club would like to place on record its thanks to everybody who has contributed towards the continued growth and development of Telford Town FC.
With exciting plans continuing both on and off the pitch, the club remains fully committed to building one of the leading community football clubs in the region.
