Telford Town Football Club are proud to confirm that, for the first time in the club’s history, players within our Women’s First Team will receive financial support as part of the club’s continued investment into the women’s game ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The decision marks another major milestone in the rapid growth of the women’s section and reflects the club’s ambition to continue raising standards both on and off the pitch.
The introduction of player payments recognises the commitment, sacrifices and professionalism consistently shown by the players and staff representing Telford Town FC Women.
Head of Women’s Football Elys Brooks-Davies said:
“This is a huge moment for everybody connected to the women’s side of the football club and something the players should be incredibly proud of.
“The women representing this football club over the last two years have helped build something special and this next step is recognition of the hard work, commitment and standards that have been shown throughout that journey.
“From day one, Hayden Dando has believed in women’s football at Telford Town FC and has backed the women’s section every single step of the way. His support and passion for developing the women’s game has been a massive reason why we are now in a position to take this step forward.
“I also want to thank Jonathan Stone who, since arriving at the club, has fully bought into that same vision and has shown a genuine commitment towards helping us continue building and progressing the women’s section.
“This football club is ambitious and this is another important step forward in that journey. We want Telford Town FC to become one of the leading environments for women’s football in the region and continuing to invest into our players and standards is a massive part of that vision.
“There is a real excitement around the club right now and we’re all looking forward to what the future can hold.”
The club will continue to work closely with staff and players across the women’s section throughout pre-season, with further announcements to follow in the coming weeks.
