Telford Town Football Club are pleased to announce that the FA have ratified the name change from Wellington Amateurs following the clubs recent takeover.

A statement from the club said "We are delighted that the name change has been approved, the existing committee of Wellington Amateurs proposed the name change and the new board of directors led by Hayden Dando fully back the name change, it is representative of the clubs vision to represent the town of Telford however we will still be nicknamed the AMS as we dont want to wipe away the fantastic past of this football club, we are merely taking it on the next adventure, it is confirmed that the development side currently known as AMS FC will continue with that name until the end of the current season where they will change to Telford Town Development".
