Forward arrives at the Lionheart Security Services Stadium

Telford Town are pleased to confirm the signing of experienced forward Shaquille McDonald, who joins the club from Birmingham OJM.

The 30-year-old arrives with a wealth of experience from higher levels of the game and adds further quality, experience and attacking options to Mike Dunn’s squad.

McDonald came through the youth system at Birmingham City before going on to represent a number of clubs across the professional and non-league game, including Peterborough United, York City, Derby County, Cheltenham Town, FC Halifax Town, Nuneaton Town, Bromsgrove Sporting, Tamworth and Mickleover.

A powerful and experienced forward, McDonald has proven goalscoring pedigree and has consistently shown his ability to make an impact in attacking areas.

He enjoyed a productive spell with Bromsgrove Sporting and has also featured extensively across the Midlands non-league scene, building a strong reputation as a direct and dangerous forward.

More recently, McDonald has been with Birmingham OJM and now makes the move to Telford as Dunn continues to reshape his squad.

McDonald has previously worked under Mike Dunn at Bilston Town, meaning the Telford boss already knows the qualities he can bring to the group.

His arrival gives Town another experienced option in the final third and further strengthens the attacking group.

Speaking about the signing, Dunn said:

“Shaq is someone I know well and I know exactly what he can bring to the team.

He has played at a very good level, he knows where the goal is and he gives us experience and a real presence in attacking areas.

He’s another player who I believe can improve us immediately and I’m looking forward to working with him again.”

Everyone at Telford Town would like to welcome Shaquille to the club.

Welcome to Telford, Shaq.
